The deadline for headliner submissions is now closed

Thank you so much to all of you for submitting your applications. If you sent something in the mail, as long as it is postmarked by January 31st it will be considered in on time.

Now the really tough decisions and conversations begin. Please be patient with our process. We will contact you and let you know either way!

Thanks!

ps. because there are so many events in the Hazeltons planned for February already, we will not be having a KVMF coffeehouse.

Happy Holidays!

We are working hard listening to our headliner submissions (what a tough job eh!?). We are so excited by all of your applications so far and appreciative of the high caliber and diverse talents coming our way! No matter what we choose, know it will be difficult to decide, but definitely diverse in sound.

We are still seeking more applications in the area of Children’s Entertainers, and Other types of performance outside the genre of music (storytelling, puppet theatre, theatre, circus, juggling, magic… and… well, try us!).

On the newsy side of things, icy December gave us our first coffeehouse of the year with local hazeltonian and committee member Eli Larsen and Shauna Hunter from Telkwa. It was so great to see so many folks out and about supporting live music AND the art gallery… kudos especially to the large group of pre-teen girls who sat googly eyed and silent over Shauna’s uber coolness and Eli’s house rocking, art-breaking set. Not to mention the rest of us ;)

If you missed it, don’t worry, we’ll be having at least one coffeehouse a month in various locations throughout the Hazeltons/Kispiox. Come out and support local and regional performers, the local businesses who host us, and the festival!

See you in the New year,

WoW WoW WoW= triple thumbs up to the 2011 performers, organizers, volunteers and audience!

Whew!

Now that recovery from a very exceptional weekend is imminent (we think)… let’s all just take a moment to pat ourselves on the back for having a really fun, highly inspired, respectful, positive weekend full of great music, friendship, fellowship and community!

All of the performers at this year’s festival not only showed up with enthusiasm, big grins and outstanding professionalism, they also: did dishes, volunteered with sound and security, played at campfires, shared their spirits, taught great workshops, had youth play with them on stage, took care of each other, and rocked right out in their dancing feet…

All of you have left a beautiful resonant trill behind which will only empower and strengthen what has been and is known as one of the best festivals in British Columbia.

Thank you all so much for supporting the festival, supporting community, supporting the arts, and supporting each other!

We’re going to put up a feedback form on this site so we can hear what you have to say about this years fest, and continue to give our audience and performers whatever they dream or desire for future festivals!

Also, if you have some great photos/video of performances (or anything else) from the weekend, please send them to kispioxvalleymusicfestival@gmail.com… we’d love some pictures for this blog!

Thank you Thank you Thank you!

We are so flattered and honored to have hosted each and every one of you!
